Face To Face Triple Crown Night 2: Reactionary - Saint Vitus
March 29, 2019 - Brooklyn

When you think of West Coast punk rock—Hell, when you think of punk rock in general—there aren't many names more culturally resonant than Face To Face, the melodic-punk group formed by frontman Trever Keith 27 years ago. The band has weathered the shifting sands of punk rock and pop culture more times than anyone can count, and here they are, nearly three decades later, not only still going strong but finding new and exciting ways to keep their band and their fans invigorated. Case in point: Hold Fast (Acoustic Sessions), the brand new full-length from Face To Face, releasing July 27 on Fat Wreck Chords. As its title so handily points out, this is an acoustic record—the first of Face To Face's career—but the album has more than a few sonic twists and turns, with a career-spanning tracklisting, jumping from 1992's genre classic Don't Turn Away to the band's most recent effort, 2016's return-to-form Protection. As Keith explains, this was sort of a happy accident. "During last year's Econo-Live tour, we included a VIP package for the first time ever," he begins. "I wanted to do something more than just signing autographs or taking pictures, so we added an acoustic set every night b... (read more)

Failure & Swervedriver - Warsaw
March 29, 2019 - Brooklyn

Unbound to any generation, scene or movement, Failure build upon an enduring catalog of inventive, inimitable and intriguing albums, as relevant today as they will be tomorrow. Since forming in 1990, the influential Los Angeles trio – Ken Andrews [vocals, guitar, bass, programming], Greg Edwards [vocals, guitar, bass, keys] and Kellii Scott [drums, percussion] – have inhabited a universe of their own, orbited by seminal albums such as Comfort [1992], Magnified [1994] and Fantastic Planet [1996]. The latter received a rare 5-out-of-5 rating from Alternative Press as the group earned the public adoration of everyone from regular tour mates and friends Tool to Depeche Mode who openly praised the band for their cover of “Enjoy The Silence”. Following a 17-year hiatus, 2015’s The Heart Is A Monster re-established the band as a sought-after headliner in addition to attracting the praise of Rolling Stone, Pitchfork and Entertainment Weekly, to name a few. 2018 saw Failure continue forging ahead, releasing their fifth full-length album: In The Future Your Body Will Be The Furthest Thing From Your Mind.

Selling over 14 million records, they are still going strong. Amy & Emily are the only duo with top 40 titles on the Billboard 200 in the '80s, '90s, '00s and '10s. In 2012, Saliers and her Indigo Girls partner Amy Ray embarked on a bold new chapter, collaborating with a pair of orchestrators to prepare larger-than-life arrangements of their songs to perform with symphonies around the country. The duo found an elusive sonic sweet spot with the project, creating a seamless blend of folk, rock, pop, and classical that elevated their songs to new heights without scarifying any of the emotional intimacy and honesty that have defined their music for decades. Now, after more than 50 performances with symphonies across America, the experiences has finally been captured in all its grandeur on the band's stunning new album, 'Indigo Girls Live With The University of Colorado Symph...
