We are thrilled to welcome Music Hall Favorite Martin Sexton back to Tarrytown, touring in support of his ninth studio release, Mixtape of the Open Road. "Outstanding taste in songwriting as well as a soul-marinated voice." - Rolling Stone. Syracuse native Sexton got his start singing in the streets and subways of Boston in the early '90s. Still fiercely independent and headlining venues from The Fillmore to Carnegie Hall, he has influenced a generation of contemporary artists. His songs have appeared in television series such as "Scrubs," "Parenthood," and "Masters of Sex" as well as numerous films, though it's his incendiary live show, honest lyrics, and vocal prowess that keep fans coming back for more.

David Choi - Highline Ballroom
October 13, 2017 - New York

Southern California based singer-songwriter David Choi found fame after posting his first music video on YouTube, titled YouTube: A Love Song and in a week it had received an overwhelming half-a-million views. This launched Choi's idea to continue producing witty lyrics and high quality content for his soon to be reckoned fans and viewership. A father who is also a recognized musician in his own rights, and a mother who runs a record store, Choi's parents undoubtedly had a huge influence on his music career. At a young age, David was required to play the piano and violin--an experience that he did not enjoy. Presently, David has three original albums and currently working on a fourth

Widowspeak - Rough Trade NYC
October 13, 2017 - Brooklyn

Widowspeak remain purveyors of mood. Whether painting an image of a basement apartment with blinds closed or conjuring the sweeping openness of a desert, they're an outfit ever preoccupied with the influence of place and the passage of time on personal experience: the way vivid memories can feel like movies or dreams. On their newest album for Brooklyn's Captured Tracks, Widowspeak use familiar aesthetics as a narrative device, a purposeful nostalgic backdrop for songs that ask, "How did we get here?" Sonically, they exist somewhere in the overlap between somber indie rock, dream pop, slow-core and their own invented genre, "cowboy grunge." At the heart of the band, there is a palpable duality, a push and pull between the delicate and the deliberate: the contrast of lead singer-songwriter Molly Hamilton's strikingly beautiful voice and poignant melodies with the terrestrial reality of being a four-piece rock band. These songs sound like the dark bars and rock clubs they were imagined for just as much as the bedrooms where they were written. Expect the Best sees Widowspeak finding their greatest balance between opposing forces: darkness and light, quiet and loud, tension and calm... (read more)

Alt Nation Presents Atlas Genius - Gramercy Theatre
October 13, 2017 - New York

For brothers Keith and Michael Jeffery, home holds a certain kind of magic. The coastal Australian city where they grew up is more than the cradle of their youth – it was the soil for their dreams and the birthplace of their success. Australia was where they forged their breakout hit, "Trojans," which earned them a gold record and took Atlas Genius from studio project to critically acclaimed international act. After a few months turned into two years on the road in support of their debut album, When It Was Now – after exploring distant towns in distant countries, pouring their souls out in theaters all over the world – home called. But back in Australia, the blank canvas the brothers faced reflected back two very different people from the ones who had crafted When It Was Now. In the time they had been away, they had created a new normal – built a new community, endured heartbreak, and seen the world. "All of a sudden we're back in the same place but we're totally different people. We just couldn't stay if we wanted to challenge ourselves and take the next step." Full of inspiration, Keith and Michael headed to Los Angeles to record new material in the city that had spar... (read more)

Dj Earl, Slick Shoota, Suzi Analogue, Mel G - Sunnyvale
October 13, 2017 - New York

DJ Earl entered the musical world in 2005 by means of dance battles. He participates local parties in rollerskating rinks, building up his unfailing knowledge of this culture. In 2008 he meet DJ Spinn and DJ Rashad — a sudden trigger that led him to produce his own footwork tracks and join the Ghetto Teknitianz beside Spinn, Rashad, Traxman and many others soon thereafter. DJ Earl represents the new generation of Chicago's sound, between jazz and funk tunes, devilish synthesizers, unstructured hip hop samples, heavy sub basses and mesmerizing snares. With releases on prestigious record labels such as Hyperdub & Planet Mu and appearances at Boiler Room & Fabric London there's no telling what's in store for the future.

Modest Mouse - The Capitol Theatre
October 13, 2017 - Port Chester

Modest Mouse was formed in 1993 in Issaquah, Washington and over the last decade has become the indie rock standard, and one of the few bands capable of treading the narrow path where massive popularity is possible without sacrificing their longtime fans. The band released their first full-length album, This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About, on the Up label in 1996. With the release of their second album, The Lonesome Crowded West in 1997, the band's status reached new heights with a legion of fans and critical acclaim. In 2000, Modest Mouse was signed to Epic Records and released their third album, The Moon & Antarctica. In 2004 came the release of their breakthrough album, Good News For People Who Love Bad News, which included the hit "Float On" and has sold over 1.5 million copies and earned the band two Grammy nominations. Modest Mouse released We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank, on March 20, 2007 and immediately entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #1. Most recently the band released the EP No One's First, And You're Next and also reissued Moon & Antartica on vinyl.

Kaptive The Head Hey Anna - Mercury Lounge
October 13, 2017 - New York

Over the past several years, Atlanta three-piece the Head have quietly emerged as one of the city's most promising and hardest working bands. The group's 2015 EP, Millipedes, earned them national accolades and exposed the trio to wider audiences who took a shine to the band's smart balance of pop hooks and indie rock grit. As a result, the Head spent much of 2016 on the road, criss-crossing the country in what would eventually amount to a massive 107 date tour. Based out of Brooklyn and New Jersey, Hey Anna is an indie-pop five-piece made up of sisters Erin, Anna and Katie Rauch-Sasseen, featuring Matthew Langner on drums and Jamie DiTringo on lead guitar. As a band, they seamlessly mingle the warmth of a seaside summer with the cacophonous urban landscape of NYC. With the blending of heavy guitars and whimsical vocals, NYLON describes them as, "the sunny, feel-good band we've been waiting all winter to find."

Phantoms - Mercury Lounge
October 13, 2017 - New York

Phantoms, comprised of Los Angeles-based natives Kyle Kaplan and Vinnie Pergola, are a dance act that does exactly that. Often tough to box in... the boys' style lends itself to many elements of electronic and pop music; while still managing to always incorporate distinct synths and drum samples that have become synonymous with their "genre" of alternative electronic. Stemming from deep-seated roots in music and entertainment backgrounds, K&V put their entire beings into the project. They keep everyone continually dancing with an impressive live set of drum pads, synthesizers and midi controllers, while also keeping audiences engaged through their own style of humor on social media platforms. A full-time job for the band. Their fun and downright captivating personalities shine through all aspects of Phantoms.

Daniel Norgren - Rough Trade NYC
October 14, 2017 - Brooklyn

Touring outside of Europe for the first time this Fall, Daniel Norgren & band prepare for stateside introduction. Although his name may be unfamiliar in North America, Daniel Norgren has built a notable career over the past 10 years in his home country and across much of Europe. The combination of a deep catalog and a live show that cuts to the core have been the fuel for a steadily-growing audience where fans are currently lucky to catch him at a venue smaller than 1,000 capacity. A multi-instrumentalist whose live performance includes guitar, piano, harmonica, and accordion. Included also as part of this live band is longtime music companion Anders Grahn on bass and drummer Erik Berntsson. Norgren's sound is distinctly homegrown and authentic, and his songs are incredibly powerful with a knack for catchy melodies and vocal harmonies. This is a rare, first opportunity to see Europe's best kept secret and undoubtedly most captivating live performer - don't miss it.

The Lighthouse & The Whaler - Mercury Lounge
October 14, 2017 - New York

The Lighthouse and the Whaler is a band from Cleveland, Ohio, though its name alludes to the waters off the coast of Massachusetts. Inspired by a theme from Moby Dick, the band's name alone is enough to make underpaid Literature teachers beam with pride. It all started with two musicians – Aaron Smith and Michael LoPresti – who decided to collaborate in a field one sunny afternoon because that seemed nicer than playing in a basement. By the end of the day they had written their first song. They gave it a profound name: "The Field Song." When it was selected for a Paste Sampler CD, Aaron and Michael decided to make a proper run at it. The Lighthouse and the Whaler released a four-song EP in 2008 and a self-titled/produced/released album in 2009. Two songs from that album – "White Days" and "Under Mountain, Under Ground" – found their way to TV and radio. With more fans to play for, The Lighthouse and the Whaler hit the road and toured across America. Somewhere between Boston and Seattle, the band picked up three new members – Matthew, Mark and Steve – thereafter, fulfilling the prophesy that was to be five young men stuffed in a forest green Chevy Venture, searching for open ears ... The Music of Donna Summer, Tina Turner and Chaka Kahn Ft. Emilie Surtees - Club Groove NYC
October 14, 2017 - New York

For a singer with such powerful pipes, it's something of a shock to hear vocalist Emilie Surtees describe herself as primarily a "listener." Then again, maybe it's her extraordinary capacity to listen that gives her tribute to Donna Summer, Tina Turner and Chaka Khan its amazing accuracy. Surtees not only replicates hit songs, power note for power note, but communicates the soul of each singer who originally recorded them -- something that requires not only incredible vocals but also a profound appreciation of music. Be moved and amazed by a tribute artist every bit as talented as the singers she honors in this concert at Club Groove in New York City.

Air Supply - Tarrytown Music Hall
October 15, 2017 - New York

Australian soft rock duo with British-born singer-songwriter and guitarist Graham Russell and lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock are known for their heavily orchestrated sweet ballads. They had a succession of hits worldwide, including eight Top Ten hits in the United States, in the early 1980s. Graham Russell & Russell Hitchcock met on May 12, 1975, the first day of rehearsals for "Jesus Christ Superstar" in Sydney, Australia; they became instant friends with their common love for The Beatles and, of course, singing. After the shows' performances at 10:30, they would play pizza parlors, coffee bars and night clubs with just one guitar and two voices. They quickly gained a reputation for great harmonies and for original songs that Graham was constantly writing. They made a demo on a cassette of two songs, "Love and Other Bruises" and "If You Knew Me" and took it to every record company in Sydney. Everyone turned it down but one — CBS Records — who admired their unique style. They made a single in one afternoon and it shot to number one on the national charts. Air Supply was born! That same year, they opened for Rod Stewart across Australia and then throughout the U.S. and Canada playi... (read more)

After four decades of singing background for icons like the Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, and Nine Inch Nails, Lisa is finally offering her own humble, heartfelt song, accompanied by her inventive new band Grand Baton. The Weeks - Music Hall of Williamsburg
October 15, 2017 - Brooklyn

Rowdy, Raucous, Longhair Mississippi Glam Rock. That's the sound of Easy, The Week's long-awaited followup to their breakthrough album, Dear Bo Jackson. Recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis — a place filled with the ghosts (and gear) of the Replacements, ZZ Top, and Big Star, all of whom traveled to Ardent to create their own landmark albums —Easy finds The Weeks doubling down on a mix of groove, grit, and guitars. It's swaggering and sharply-focused, shining new light on a band of brothers who, although still in their mid-20s, have already logged a decade's worth of sweaty gigs together. If Easy bears resemblance to the raw, rowdy attitude of the The Weeks' live show, it's because the album was written at the end of a busy, five-year period that found the group rarely leaving the road.
