With Exene Cervenka, Billy Zoom, and DJ Bonebrake, he continues to tour with X, one of the last original punk rock bands standing, and as a solo artist. He has recorded ten solo albums with numerous renowned singers and musicians and appeared in over fifty films and television productions as an actor. On this tour he will perform solo renditions of songs from his latest album, The Westerner, along with selections from his entire career. About Naked Soul Naked Soul presents performances from some of the country's top singer/songwriters without microphones or amplifiers, as if the music were, acoustically speaking, naked. The musicians in the series draw upon the universal themes inherent in Himalayan art—spirituality, peace, tolerance, wisdom, compassion—on select Friday evenings.

"Living in Philly provided a context for a lot of soul music that I had liked," RJD2 says on the city's influence on Dame Fortune's sound. "I didn't have any cultural context for this music that I liked—it was just music that I had stumbled across as a beat making nerd. Philly was a place where there were enough people who had the same musical vocabulary that I did, which made the music more than something I had just discovered on my o... (read more)
