Marissa Nadler at The Loft - City Winery
July 13, 2019 - New York

Tickets will be $18 Day of Show By asking difficult questions about her relationships, Marissa Nadler has found a stronger sense of self and a sharper voice as both a songwriter and a vocalist on For My Crimes, culminating in her most evocative entry in an already impressive discography. Following the release of 2016's acclaimed Strangers, Nadler's relationships were put to the test as she left the Boston area on tour. She wrote throughout 2017 about this tension, and ended up with three times as many songs as she needed. But after reviewing the demos with her co-producers Justin Raisen and Lawrence Rothman, Nadler wrote a flurry of tight but no less intense new songs in the week before arriving at Rothman's Laurel Canyon studio, House of Lux, in early January. She considered it a challenge to herself, applying new strategies and structures to the craft of "slow music" she's honed over the last 15 years. From that group of songs came nearly all of the singles on For My Crimes, some of the most indelible of Nadler's career. The opening title track is classic Nadler: a sweeping, vaguely Southern drama of voices, strings, and acoustic guitar, that walks the fine line between charac... (read more)

Bowlive Viii Featuring Soulive with Special Guest John Scofield - Brooklyn Bowl
July 13, 2019 - Brooklyn

ARTIST INFO SOULIVE WebsiteFacebookTwitterInstagram Soulive has never made any bones about what they do best; it's right there in their name. Since forming in 1999, the trio of guitarist Eric Krasno, drummer Alan Evans and keyboardist Neal Evans has carried the torch for the soul-jazz organ trio—that venerable, funky institution pioneered by the likes of Jimmy Smith, Brother Jack McDuff and Groove Holmes in the late '60s. Rest assured, when the Evans brothers first brought Kraz by their Woodstock studio, there was plenty of old vinyl spread out on the floor. In their 13 years together, Soulive has followed the muse in the direction of hip-hop, R&B, blues and rock, collaborating with the likes of Chaka Khan, Dave Matthews, Talib Kweli, John Scofield, Derek Trucks, Maceo Parker, Susan Tedeschi, Robert Randolph, Joshua Redman, Kenny Garrett, Fred Wesley, The Roots, Ivan Neville and so many others, even going so far as to record a full album of covers by The Beatles (Rubber Soulive). But, no matter how they push the limits of the organ trio, they always come back to their bread and butter: blistering solos and grooves that don't quit.

Freezepop - The Mercury Lounge
July 13, 2019 - New York

Age Limit: 21 and Over Nullsleep The latest: We're in the process of making our 5th full-length album (and 2 bonus albums) after an amazing Kickstarter campaign. Things are coming along! We're also going to be playing some shows this summer, with some "special guests," omg. And some backstory: • We formed in Boston in the summer of 1999, a time and place where electropop bands were exceedingly rare. • Released two homemade EPs, built a website, animated a video (these things were BIG deals back then, and it even got us a writeup in Wired for our DIY-meets-techy- goodness aesthetic). • Our debut album, 2000's Freezepop Forever, was released domestically on our own label, Archenemy, and licensed in Europe by the Spanish indiepop label Elefant. • In 2004, put out our sophomore album, Fancy Ultra•Fresh. • In 2008, after eight years of self-releasing our music, we partnered with Rykodisc/ Cordless Recordings for our third album, Future Future Future Perfect, and the single "Less Talk More Rokk" was the iTunes #4 dance/electronic song that year. • The label experiment was cool, but we decided to return to self-releasing for our next album, Imaginary Friends, which went on to receive Be... Justin Moore - The Pacific Amphitheatre
July 14, 2019 - Costa Mesa

In anticipation of his extensive fall tour and new album (Late Nights And Longnecks), the country star and his band headline arenas and amphitheaters across the US. Moore's "emotional" (Entertainment Tonight) latest single "The Ones That Didn't Make It Back Home" is a heartfelt, twang-laden salute "backed up by a soaring chorus and weeping guitar work" (Rolling Stone Country), and the track offers a taste of what fans can expect both on the road and on his most traditional album to date.

July 14, 2019 - Long Island City

Bang on a Can and The Noguchi Museum present the New York-based guitar and percussion duo 75 Dollar Bill, performing their unique blend of sound from Northwest Africa by way of Mississippi and New York No Wave. As 75 Dollar Bill, plywood crate percussionist Rick Brown and guitarist Che Chen make electric, richly patterned music that can shape shift from joyful dance tunes to slowly changing trance minimalism – an uncategorizable hybrid which draws on early electric blues, the modal traditions of West Africa, India, and the Middle East, Sun Ra’s space chords and the minimalist and No Wave histories of their hometown. For this event, the group will present a special set of material conceived with the unique environs of The Noguchi Museum in mind. The performance will take place in The Noguchi Museum’s outdoor sculpture garden. In case of rain, the concert will move to the Museum’s galleries.

July 14, 2019 - New York

Age Limit: 21 and Over Why is there no "K" you might ask? Was it destiny? An accident? An ill-fated attempt to shape an individualistic image for myself? The answer, actually, is none of your business... ...Hmm? Oh yeah, I'm an alt-blues guitarist based out of Philadelphia. I currently play the finest dive bars in the city, scrounging my way towards my dream one drunken tip at a time. Mykele Deville is a rapper, poet, actor, teaching artist, and author from the west side of Chicago. His solo hip-hop and poetic recordings include Peace, Fam (2017), Each One Teach One (2016), and Super Predator (2016). Already Late are a band shaped by a long list of genres. On top of a variety of guitars, catchy hooks (in both English and Japanese) funky bass lines and banging drum beats, they have managed to find spots in their set for electronics, as well as some ukulele. A gifted writer, lyricist and storyteller, Daniel Victor has continued to further embed himself in New York's music scene.
