Coney Island opens its newest addition, Surf Pavilion, which will host live entertainment, an authentic pizza bar, and the Coney Island Walls of Fame.
If you needed more of a pull to Coney Island than the deep fried treats, salty ocean air, and upside-down roller coasters, well, you shouldn't really need more reasons, but Coney's got one: Surf Pavilion, its brand new addition to the boardwalk of phenomenal, freaky dreams.
Surf Pavilion is home to Coney Island's existing Trapeze School New York where you can sign up to swing through the air like a bona fide circus big shot (count us in for falling on our faces).
Adding to the fun, visitors will be able to enjoy live entertainment, including free and ticketed concerts, magic shows, performances by the Coney Island Dancers, and Xcite Wrestling shows throughout the summer. Baseball fans will be able to shake hands with Coney Island Cyclones players at meet-and-greet events.
Eat up at Surf Pavilion's beer and pizza bar, serving authentic coal oven Brooklyn pizza from Table 87 and crisp beers to keep you cool in the summer heat.
Before you go, take your picture in front of one of the new Coney Art Walls, featuring the designs of more than 30 artists, and score a few additional snacks from a pop-up Smorgasburg vendor village.
