The Babies are Coming! Look What's Crawling into Toys 'R' Us Times Square
New this summer is the Babies“R”Us department providing New York City parents, and visitors to the Big Apple with a convenient one-stop shopping experience for both baby products and toys. The nearly 6,100-square-foot Babies“R”Us department, located on Level Two, features a specially selected assortment of traditional baby items for style-savvy parents. To celebrate the department’s grand opening, the store will host a celebration featuring a book signing event with the authors of “Grandmother Book: A Book About You for Your Grandchild” on Thursday, September 4, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. With additional activities taking place throughout the following weekend including appearances by Arthur, Barbie, Strawberry Shortcake, Funshine Bear and Geoffrey.
To ensure that Times Square shoppers are aware of the expanded assortment of baby products, the exterior of the building will now feature easily identifiable signs, showcasing both Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us logos. The new Babies“R”Us department has a contemporary feel, with merchandise showcased against a palette of soft colors, such as silver, white and butter. Also, the space features a state-of-the-art Babies“R”Us Baby Registry, a “Baby on the Go” shop to make traveling with baby easy and special services, including a Mothers’ Room.
“Expanding the Babies“R”Us department by nearly 1,000 square feet in Toys“R”Us Times Square offers shoppers a great new location for all of their baby needs,” said Mindy Clements, General Manager, of Toys“R”Us Times Square. “The new Babies“R”Us department is the perfect Midtown Manhattan destination for parents to find chic baby apparel, strollers, bedding and baby care essentials, while shopping for the hottest toys available for kids of every age.”
The expanded assortment of baby products at Toys“R”Us Times Square includes stylish choices, such as 16 varieties and patterns of bedding, layette for sizes birth – 12 months, adorable apparel for children ages 3 – 48 months, and shoes for tiny feet. Additionally, the new Amy Coe Collection, exclusive to Babies“R”Us, offers a selection of colorful items for trendy babies and moms, including bedding, room décor, accessories, diaper bags, plush items and gift wrap. The Babies“R”Us department also offers a convenient in-store baby registry that is also accessible online at www.Babiesrus.com. This service eliminates guesswork and geographic barriers from gift-buying, allowing friends and relatives to easily select, buy and send gifts directly to the expecting parents. In addition to the online baby registry, if you’re a little pressed for time, or just need help picking out the perfect treasure for baby or another special someone, the knowledgeable team of personal shoppers at Toys-R-Us Times Square is on the job. Even if you can’t make it into the store in person, take advantage of this free service with just a phone call and Toys-R-Us will deliver your merchandise free of charge, straight to your home.
