Godfrey’s Nigerian parents unknowingly encouraged his bad behavior by showing him classic comedy films from an early age. While performing impressions of his college football teammates, Godfrey realized his irreverent style of comedy might be more than just a hobby. As soon as Godfrey went pro, he immediately landed several high-profile projects. Ben Stiller cast him to play himself in “Zoolander,” a performance that has since achieved cult status. Grand Opening of Dalup Modern Indian in Chelsea, NYC - Dalup Modern Indian

On Thursday, June 6 Dalup Modern Indian will open to the public in Chelsea, a fast-casual eatery featuring a light, 3-step pan-Indian menu and a robot. The menu, developed by Bravo’s Top Chef alum Dave Martin, focuses on a lighter and more modern version of traditional Indian cuisine. Signature dishes include the Dalup Naan Roll featuring house-made Naan bread with antibiotic-free Chicken Tikka Masala (that is cashew milk-based), wrapped with cilantro and greens that will be available. Other features include a build-your-own “Veggie Karma” bowl with freekeh, Korma Curry (coconut milk-based) with roasted cauliflower, chickpeas, carrots and peas, served with tomato chutney, raita and pickled citrus. Dalup utilizes specialized equipment to bake their Naan bread and their grilled kebab-style meat including chicken, pork and lamb. Dalup even has a custom developed robotic Dosa machine that makes Dosas on order. Proceeds will also be donated to Girls Who Code, a national not-for-profit organization with the mission to close the gender gap in technology.

Red Bull Arts New York is proud to present Gretchen Bender: So Much Deathless, the first posthumous retrospective of the life and work of the influential, multi-disciplinary artist. Opening to the public on March 6, 2019, and remaining on view until July 28, the ambitious exhibition returns the spotlight to one of contemporary art's most prescient figures, detailing her historic importance and contemporary relevance. Gretchen Bender (1951-2004) was a pioneering artist who worked across video, sculpture, computer graphics, photography, print and installation to interrogate the accelerated age of mass media. Moving to New York in 1978, Bender quickly fell in with the Post-Pictures Generation scene, centered around the artist-run gallery Nature Morte, as well as a milieu of artist and performers connected to The Kitchen. She befriended and collaborated with such figures as artists Robert Longo and Cindy Sherman, the choreographers Bill T. Jones and Arnie Zane, and musicians Stuart Argabright and Vernon Reid.
