Heartland Brewery's Amazing New Taproom

NYC's craft beer scene has exploded in recent years. Visitors to NYC looking to get a taste of some of New York's best beer need look no further.

Heartland Brewery, NYC's original craft brewer since 1995, already offers three Manhattan locations to enjoy fresh pints of their delicious beers (and the delicious HB Burger). But with their new Taproom in Brooklyn, you'll be able to enjoy even fresher pints. That's right, they've just opened up a new 12,000-square-foot spot to taste all of their classic and seaonsal offerings, inside the Fort Greene brewery that's been their centralized brewing headquarters since 2003.

Kelly Taylor brewmaster Heartland Kelso

In addition to Heartland's brews, you'll be able to sample brewmaster Kelly Taylor's popular KelSo beers which are also brewed at this location. Six rotating beers will be served and many will be barrell aged in an assortment of wood casks from bourbon to Cardonnay. The initial beers on tap with be their IPA,, Imperial Saison, Juniper Black IPA, Smorg Pilsner, Nut Brown Lager and White IPA. Beers will cost between $5-$6 and growler fills are avilable for $10. Crunchy bar snacks (think: pretzels and pork rinds) will also be on hand.

The cavernous Taproom makes for a perfect place to imbibe. Stainless stell fermentation tanks hang above the reclaimed wood bar and the inustrial chic vibe is only enhanced by the fact that the building was itself a former dairy facility built in 1904.

The Heartland Brewery Taproom is located at 529 Waverly Ave., Brooklyn, NY, 718-398-2731. For more information, click here.
