Back to the Future Turns 30! How to Celebrate in NYC

Time to rev up the DeLorean! The beloved 1985 film classic Back to the Future, starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd as time travellers Marty McFly and Doc Brown, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The blockbuster was released on July 3, 1985, with Marty McFly in Back to the Future II setting the controls for October 21st, 2015, a distant day that's just about here. Relive the fun with these special NYC events!

Oct. 3 At the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) view all three Back to the Future Films, back to back, beginning at 2pm (2pm, 5pm, and 8pm). The screenings are part of a special Robert Zemeckis retrospective, going on at MoMA through Oct. 18.

Oct. 15-16 Radio City Music Hall will screen the original film accompanied by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, 8pm. Tickets are on sale now.

Oct. 21 Celebrate October 21st with a one night only screening of Back to the Future at the Nitehawk Cinema in Wiliamsburg, Brooklyn. The film will be followed by a trivia contest, with prizes.

Midtown Comics has a selection of commemorative items, including action figures, a Monopoly Back to the Future special edition, a DeLorean Sixth Scale Collectible Vehicle, and more.
