Since 1984, World Yacht has been one of New York City’s premiere high-end cruise companies, with a fleet of four dining yachts. Each passenger is warmly welcomed and treated like a star, whether you’re a couple seeking a romantic dinner to celebrate an anniversary, or your name is Billy Joel (or Macklemore). World Yacht recently introduced a newly renovated cocktail lounge and Floating Rooftop™ bar aboard its premium Duchess vessel, as well as a custom cocktail program curated by Manhattan’s top mixologists.
“We’ve been seeing increased customer demand for a more relaxed atmosphere onboard our higher end vessels,” said Danny Boockvar, CEO of New York Cruise Lines, the parent company of World Yacht. “The reimagined amenities onboard the Duchess will ensure our guests the most upscale dining experience they’ve come to expect from World Yacht, while our new innovations will offer a more casual setting to mingle afterwards, all while enjoying the most spectacular views of New York. The new concept for World Yacht will continue to position Pier 81 as a premier destination for New Yorkers and visitors alike.”
A stately dining room, farm-to-table ingredients and the majestic tableau of New York Harbor await aboard World Yacht.
Every evening of the year, World Yacht Classic, a three-hour dinner cruise, sets sail from Pier 81 on the Hudson River. It offers patrons an elegant, four-course dining experience, while they take in breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline aboard the Duchess—a 160-foot-long ship that has an exterior deck and two climate controlled, interior decks, with a capacity for up to 350 guests. The ship is outfitted with a baby grand piano, an oversized dance floor and a high quality sound system that can be used for speeches, live music or DJ entertainment. Feel free to dance the evening away until the cruise docks.
Great care is taken to make sure each evening’s dining experience is perfect. The menu features locally-sourced garden-to-table ingredients, curated according to seasonality (vegetarian options are offered on the menu). Grown and gathered on-site at the World Yacht Gardens at Pier 81, a selection of seasonal vegetables and herbs are incorporated into all food and beverage, ranging from fresh cherry and heirloom tomatoes, to sweet banana peppers and Italian parsley.
World Yacht Classic sets course around the tip of Manhattan, up the East River, under the world-famous Brooklyn Bridge and far enough north for guests to catch a glimpse of the UN Headquarters. The ship then turns around and sets sail towards the Statue of Liberty on the way back up to Pier 81. You’ll also see the shimmering art deco spires of the Empire State and Chrysler Building.
Take Sunday brunch with a friend or loved one to the next level with a two-hour, Sunday Mimosa Brunch aboard World Yacht. Dining selections feature favorites such as Belgian Waffles, Pecan Wood Smoked Bacon, and Fluffy Scrambled Eggs. Guests can indulge in fresh complimentary mimosas, coffees and teas, while enjoying a relaxing afternoon on the harbor. The Sunday Mimosa Brunch will be offered every Sunday now through Oct. 31, boarding at noon and sailing from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.
Year round, World Yacht also offers themed cruise events. Reservations are now being accepted for their highly popular Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve cruises. You can also charter a yacht for your wedding or other social events.
Proper attire and reservations are required for all cruises; advance booking is recommended. Vessels are wheelchair accessible. Cruises take place rain or shine.
