New York has a new way to get out on the water this summer. New York Cruise Lines, the folks behind last year’s smash North River Lobster Company excursions, opens Fish Bar at North River Landing on May 1, 2016. Fish Bar at North River Landing offers three floors of lounge and restaurant space, specializing in seafood (of course), and docked on the Hudson River at West 41st Street. If you’re looking for craft beers, sophisticated shared plates, and stunning views, New York Cruise Lines has you covered.

“We have been eagerly awaiting the launch of our second floating restaurant concept and are confident that this new venue will quickly earn its title as one of the best urban rooftops and waterfront social settings in Manhattan,” said Daniel Boockvar, Chief Executive Officer of New York Cruise Lines.

Executive Chef Nikolaos Saragias has worked with culinary superstars from David Burke to Jean Georges to Fred Sabo, and oversees a creative array of seafood. Dover Sole gets reimagined as a crudo with pickled peppers, onions, and celery greens. Plymouth Rock Oysters are crusted in cornmeal and served with sriracha lime butter. Pan-seared red mullets come with micro greens and garlic jus. Desserts match up with the meals, featuring sorbets inspired by Cabernet, Champagne, and Campari.

The same attention to detail applies to the beverage program. There are more than 20 craft beers and two-dozen champagnes on offer. An in-house sommelier allows guests to discover boutique wines and fresh pairings. For stiffer drinks, look to the house’s farm-to-cocktail program, making use of rosemary, mint, and other herbs grown right on the North River Landing rooftop garden.

Designed by acclaimed New York architect Andrew Franz, the renovated yacht has some 10,000 square feet of space, with a bi-level interior, indoor and outdoor bars, and a massive top deck primed for sunsets and city views. Taking cues from vintage yachts, Fish Bar at North River Landing is finished with reclaimed teak, hammered brass, and luxurious banquettes. Like sibling ship the North River Lobster Company, Fish Bar will specialize in daily short Hudson River sails.
