Gotham Comedy Club Owners Book Standup at Atlantic City's Borgata

Beginning April 1, the owners of New York’s famous Gotham Comedy Club will oversee programming at the Music Box Theater/Borgata Comedy Club at The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The original Gotham Comedy Club was founded by Chris and Steve Mazzilli in 1996. The club soon gained a reputation for attracting talented standups like Seinfeld, Dave Chappelle, and Lewis Black. Larry David filmed part of his pilot for his hit TV show Curb Your Enthusiasm at the club. In 2005, Gotham moved to its current location on West 23rd Street in Chelsea. The brothers Mazzilli, co-owners of Gotham, will be managing the line-up at The Borgata Comedy Club, bringing their years of experience to the table to secure excellent standups for the resort.

Michael Woodside, Vice President of Marketing for Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, says, “Chris and Steve’s ability to attract the country’s most sought-after comedic talent will further bolster the Club’s reputation as Atlantic City’s leading venue for nightly entertainment.”

Comedy fans can’t miss the upcoming lineup at The Borgata. Comedian JB Smoove (who happened to play David’s sidekick on “Curb”) will perform April 7 at The Music Box Theatre at The Borgata.

On top of the Mazzilli brothers' booking at The Borgata, there are additional big shows coming up at the venue in the coming months, booked by Live Nation. The legendary Jerry Seinfeld will play The Borgata Event Center on April 14, July 27, and July 28.

Stay Hungry

Tickets are still available for Brian Regan on May 11, while it looks like it may take some finagling to snag tickets to Sebastian Maniscalco on his Stay Hungry tour. He will perform June 22-24, 27, 29, 30, and July 1 (and all shows are currently sold out). Kathleen Madigan’s Boxed Wine & Bigfoot Tour hits the stage on July 14, and Mr. Universe himself, Jim Gaffigan, will play two shows on August 4.

The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is a premiere luxury resort in the Marina District of Atlantic City. It contains 2,000 hotel rooms, over 3,000 slot machines, 11 stores, 5 fine-dining restaurants, and 4 nightclubs. Whether you want a fast-paced thrill through the casino or a relaxing time at the spa—or both!—you’ll have a fantastic time at the Borgata. The Borgata Comedy Club began in 2004 with Ray Garvey, a former NYPD officer, at the helm. Comedy shows appear nightly at The Music Box Theatre starting at 9pm.
