Paleyfest 2016: Television Made in New York

Here's a chance for an up-close-and-personal look into the making of top-rated television programs set in New York. The Paley Center for Media from October 6-19, 2016 welcomes PALEYFEST: Made in New York, highlighting some of the most celebrated programs made in the Big Apple. It's the ultimate TV fan festival, a star-studded lineup of events with casts and creative teams behind some of television's greatest hits with screenings and panels and stars. The Paley Center, one of New York's major media hubs, does the hosting, with a supremely plush, comfortable auditorium to watch in.

The Paley Center for Media, with locations in New York and Los Angeles, is a main nonprofit mover and shaker concerned with the cultural, creative, and social significance of television, radio, and emerging platforms. It is accessible both by the professional community and anyone interested in yesterday's and today's media. PALEYFEST is part of The Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment’s 50th Anniversary Campaign, highlighting the importance of the television and film industry to the city.

The Center is open Wednesdays through Sundays 12 noon to 6pm. Free admission; suggested contributions of $10 adults, $8 students and senior citizensm, and $5 children under 14 let you spend an hour and a half with your favorite episodes of television, news, and specials in the archive library with headphones and monitors (if it ever aired, the chances are you can find it and watch it at The Paley Center). Your admission also grantsentry to current exhibitions. Guided tours, which include info on the Paley Center's history, collection, and current programs are offered; ask for details when you visit.
