BarBacon Opens Second Location in Union Square
Bacon lovers will want to stop for a bite at Union Square's newest welcome addition, BarBacon. It's the restaurant's second location, after their successful 2014 opening in Hell's Kitchen.
BarBacon's rustic vibe offers a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for tasty pub bites, as well a place to catch a game on any one of the numerous televisions around the bar. (There's 171 seats, so you'll find ample space.)
One must try the delectable "Burnt Ends"—savory chunky barbecued bacon bites—in addition to the bourbon/bacon-infused corn bread, and nosh on addictive Kentucky Fried Bacon Bites, with Thai chili honey that is finger-licking good.
The generous portions of bacon spill over to the cocktail selection. The BarBacon Old-Fashioned gives a new twist on a classic, with a smoky strip of bacon; the Hogstorm plays on the Moscow Mule, with bacon-infused Goslings, ginger liqueur, ginger beer, and bacon.
The BarBacon Old-Fashioned
“The love of bacon is universal. I originally opened BarBacon to give bacon the proper respect and attention it deserves, and we’ve had a lot of fun elevating the ingredient and showcasing the different ways to eat bacon,” says Peter Sherman, Chef Owner of BarBacon. “We are extremely proud that our family is expanding with BarBacon Union Square, and hope with its central downtown Manhattan location, the restaurant will be a go-to destination for both locals and those visiting New York City.”
BarBacon will be featured on Travel Channel’s Food Paradise for best places to eat bacon this year.
If you're a fan of brunch (who isn't?) Bar Bacon serves up a hearty version on weekends. And during football season, try the NFL BarBacon Burger 'n' Beer combo for $21. In addition, happy hour specials are served up Monday-Friday, 4pm-8pm.
BarBacon is located at 127 Fourth Avenue. For more information, visit barbacon.com.
