We are excited to exhibit the glass sculptures of American artist John Torreano, in collaboration with Mel Furukawa on February 20th, from 6-8pm.

Mel Furukawa, a floral designer, will be curating the show and making floral arrangements in Torreano's work using seasonal flowers and branches.

John Torreano was born in Flint, MI and has worked in a variety of mediums and methods including painting, sculpture, relief, furniture and hand-blown glass. His works have been exhibited at the Whitney Museum of Art and the MoMA, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, the Corcoran Gallery, the Whitney, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and many others.

Torreano theorizes that all art "exists somewhere between a totally abstract creation and a total reproduction of physical things in the world." Torreano uses the gems and glass to bring together the world of theory and the world of things.

Please join us on Thursday, February 20th from 6-8pm for the opening of FLOWERS & GLASS.
