Stop Kiss (Murmuration Theatre Co)
Murmuration Theatre Co kicks off Pride Month with a 25th anniversary production of Diana Son's iconic queer play Stop Kiss!
Stop Kiss is the story of Callie and Sara—two women who meet, become fast friends, and fall in love—and how they, together, recover from the hate crime which leaves Sara in a coma.
Hate crimes targeting LGBT individuals have climbed for the past four straight years, and incidents of political violence against LGBT Americans tripled between 2021 and 2022. In light of recent legislation targeting and demonizing the LGBT community, this play is incredibly timely and necessary.
This production also run in part as a fundraiser for The Audre Lorde Project and the Lesbian Herstory Archives, directly enabling LGBT POC community organizing as well as the preservation of queer history.
*CW: The show includes a vivid and graphic verbal description of anti-LGBT violence, as well as hospital scenes from the aftermath.
Stop Kiss is at 3 Dollar Bill (off the Montrose L train stop) Thursday June 1 — Sunday June 4 Tickets for all four performances (21+, General Admission) are available now.
