Eisler said about this cycle, completed shortly before his death in 1962, "it is consciousness—reflection—depression—revival and again consciousness...one must describe the up and down of…actual situations, sing about them and comment on them." We may find shocking similarities between the situations on which Eisler commented, and those of our current age.
