Executive produced by NBA Star Derrick Rose of the NY Knicks and Actor/Comedian Craig Robinson, PUNCH 9 FOR HAROLD WASHINGTON is the first feature-length documentary to tell the story of Harold Washington, the first Black mayor of Chicago, Il. The nationwide PUNCH 9 tour launches next Friday with a 7:00 p.m. screening at the AMC Empire 25 in Manhattan.

Directed by Joe Winston and produced by Raymond Lambert and Sonya Jackson, the film explores Washington's brief time in office and its lasting influence on local and national politics. His election was also a precursor to NYC's first Black mayor, David Dinkins. To date, the film has been showcased at DOC NYC, the Chicago International Film Festival, Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival, and Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

It has been heralded by the Chicago Sun-Times as "a masterful quilt of storytelling, historic videos and photos and the bright voices of that era," and described by Bloomberg as “A 1980s Blueprint on How to Be a Leader.”
