10-11-2018 12:00:00 01-12-2018 12:00:00 America/New_York Three Exciting Exhibitions at Agora Gallery! This November, Agora Gallery welcomes three exhibitions: I Remember You, I Know this Place; Discovery: Contemporary Art Perspectives from England, and Illumination: an Exhibition of Fine Art Photography. I Remember You, I Know this Place is primarily an exhibition of paintings, with occasional forays into sculpture and ink on paper works. Throughout the exhibition, viewers will encounter figurative, yet also suggestively abstract works that convey a phrasal meaning. The works included in the show are in such a way that the viewer might experience a sudden insight or act of recognition regarding the human condition. Discovery: Contemporary Art Perspectives from England is an ambitious digital exhibition that showcases a host of artistic styles. Ranging from figuration to abstraction, the exhibition gathers together works influenced by different historical periods, in an effort to demonstrate the sheer multiplicity of artistic values, ideals, and techniques operating in England today. Illumination: An Exhibition of Fine Art Photography features the work of four contemporary artists as they challenge the notions of traditional photography. Using collage, double exposure, and blurred images, these artists illuminate the grace and beauty of their surroundings, revealing hidden truths of the world around us. The exhibitions will open on Saturday, November 10th with a reception on Thursday, November 15th, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm. The exhibition will remain on view until Saturday, December 1st, 2018. All are welcome to attend. Entrance to the gallery is free. Venue Description: Agora Gallery is a fine art gallery, established in 1984 and located in the heart of New York City's Chelsea art galleries district. It is famous for showcasing a spectacular array of talented artists from around the world and around the corner, while providing quality and original art to collectors. Exhibitions are usually group exhibits, presenting the work of a number of artists, but sometimes solo exhibitions focus on the work of one particular artist. The gallery publishes ARTisSpectrum Magazine, a bi-annual magazine that is distributed to museums, galleries, art institutions and art schools around the world. It provides artists, collectors, museums, galleries, art organizations and enthusiasts with access to the work of international talented artists as well as feature articles, reviews and interviews. Agora Gallery is the proud sponsor of ARTmine, one of the most comprehensive resources available worldwide to view and purchase fine art. The gallery also runs Agora Art Blog, a blog designed to provide helpful information and advice for artists while providing a forum for artists to help one another by sharing their experiences and thoughts.
