polyphonic lifeways; rhizomatic entanglements
Please join Cameron A. Granger and Sarah H. Cho for a screening of Granger’s Here & there along the echo and conversation on January 16th from 6:30-7:30pm. The film screening will be followed by a discussion about Granger’s use of speculative fiction and narrative building in imagining alternative futures and realities in defiance of legacies of compounding harm in Black and brown neighborhoods. In their discussion, Granger and Cho will expand upon themes of shared sorrows and struggles, pondering how Black and Asian solidarities can exist both in conjunction with adjacencies and beyond categorization. Through the framework of Granger’s films and artwork, this conversation examines how boundaries of identity – imposed, molded, reinforced, broken, and shared – can be reinterpreted and reshaped.
