Featuring the very best beats of today, with a nod to the musical heritage of the East Village, 550 revelers will be able to switch their headphones between three different genres, played by three live DJs. The iconic Astor Place "Cube" will provide the ultimate backdrop for revelers dancing through the sunset into the night. Astor Blaster celebrates Astor Place and the East Village as a nexus of New York City's shifting cultural attitudes, often expressed through music. Folkies, Beatniks and Punks have all gravitated towards Astor Place and its legendary neighboring venues including CBGB where Patti Smith & the Velvet Underground performed, Webster Hall, as well as iconic dance clubs such as The Electric Circus and The Saint. Admission to Astor Blaster is FREE and wireless headphones will be available on a first come, first served basis. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, by clicking here. The Astor Blaster turntables start spinning at 6:00pm and will continue until 10:00pm.
