Ela is a one-woman all hardware electronic orchestra. Following a strong desire to maintain the essence of improvisation both in recorded as well as on live music, she does not use any laptops in absolutely any stage of her production or live performances. She does everything herself and performs live using only hardware machines and her voice. Grace Ives There are three obvious reasons why one might pick up an instrument and learn to play: a prodigious talent, a phase of teenage rebellion, or a set of loving yet overbearing parents. The first scenario is 'eh', the second is 'cool', and the third, not so much. These, of course, are archetypes, more often than not mutually exclusive, and denote a predetermined trajectory. In reality, however, we don't have to stick to the script. That's where Grace Ives comes in. http://www.cityguideny.com/eventinfo.cfm?id=375968 Baby's All Right Baby's All Right
