T-Mac’s Run 5K Run and Memorial Walk at Baldwin Harbor Park
Join us for the Tyler McKenzie (TMAC) Memorial Fund’s 3rd Annual charity 5K run and memorial walk.

Proceeds from this event will support innovative kidney cancer research, cancer patient advocacy and various scholarships. The signature beneficiary for this year's event will be Gold Ribbon Children’s Cancer Research Center in Tokyo.

In 2016, Tyler was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer, translocation renal cell carcinoma. When it progressed to stage 4 in 2020, he was a true warrior, remained in good spirits and fought until the end. He passed away on August 12, 2022, at the tender age of 28. Before he passed, he wanted to become an advocate for helping other young people navigate a cancer diagnosis, treatment, and care.

Tyler grew up on Long Island, New York and attended schools in Baldwin and Dix Hills, graduating from Half Hollow Hills High School East in 2011. He attended Syracuse University and graduated in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Sports Management. He worked for an investment consultancy and the Brooklyn Nets sports team before embarking on an exciting opportunity at SEO (Sponsors for Educational Opportunity), where he would assist young adults with their personal and professional development. A Jack and Jill alumna (2011) and a brother of the Phi Beta Sigma Inc. Fraternity, Tyler believed in community service.

T-Mac’s Run will provide us the opportunity to come together to celebrate Tyler, raise awareness about cancers affecting our community all while raising funds for a cure to eradicate this disease.
