“Look Bach, Listening Forward”

Aaron Larget-Caplan makes his Bargemusic debut with a solo performance featuring classics by J.S. Bach arranged for guitar with one re-imagined as if Bach were from South India by Vineet Shende, a lyrical meditation by John Cage, two solos written for Aaron’s critically acclaimed New Lullaby Project by Laurie Spiegel and Anthony Green, a world premiere by Brooklyn composer Daniel Felsenfeld, and solos by Larget-Caplan from his album honey cadence. The concert will conclude with two works from Aaron’s latest album dedicated to the music of Spain (release in April 2023).

Aaron Larget-Caplan, a classical guitarist who searches for the life in music and music in life. He has premiered over 110 compositions, directs the Spanish dance ensemble ¡Con Fuego!, and is the founder and curator of the New Lullaby Project, which includes three albums and two volumes of scores published in partnership with the American Composers Alliance. Larget-Caplan’s arrangements and recording of the music of John Cage are issued by Edition Peters and Stone Records and are the first for guitar to be sanctioned by the estate and have received international accolades. He has nine acclaimed solo albums. The first album of his own compositions honey cadence was released in April 2022, and an album dedicated to Bach in September 2022.
