Hard Hat Tours of Ellis Island’s abandoned Hospital Complex are now resuming on weekends, in compliance with social distancing guidelines and proper safety protocols to help keep guests safe. The Hard Hat Tours by Save Ellis Island (Saturdays and Sundays at 11 AM and 1 PM) include a 90-minute guided experience of the 29-building hospital complex on the Southside of Ellis Island, which was used to treat sick immigrants coming from overseas at the turn of the 20th century. Tickets for the Hard Hat Tours also include access to the Statue of Liberty Museum, Ellis Island Immigration Museum, along with the grounds of Liberty and Ellis Island that offer plenty of open space.
