Adamová & Silberstein: Belonging
Award-winning Czech mezzo-soprano Bella Adamova and acclaimed American collaborative pianist Corey Silberstein reunite after their successful collaboration at the Tanglewood Music Festival. Together, they present a vibrant program that explores the theme of belonging, featuring songs from both sides of the Atlantic.
The performance includes Gustav Mahler’s renowned Rückert Lieder, alongside Benjamin Britten’s Folksong arrangements, which he began composing while longing for his native England during World War II. Also featured are Pavel Haas’s poignant Four Songs to Chinese Poetry, written in the infamous Theresienstadt Ghetto. Rounding out the program are Charles Ives’s songs, offering vivid portrayals of life in early 20th-century America.
