27-04-2019 12:00:00 27-04-2019 12:00:00 America/New_York Storytime with Shira Erlichman: Be/Hold | 11:00AM-12:00PM In Be/Hold: A Friendship Book visual artist, poet, and musician Shira Erlichman opens with the line, "Sweetheart, sometimes when I'm feeling blue I put my ear to the wind & listen for you," building a one-of-a-kind story of friendship from her love of compound words (i.e. toothbrush, windbreaker, behold) in a book that uplifts, encourages, and honors the people we care about most. Shira Erlichman is a poet, musician and visual artist. In Hebrew Shira means poem and song. A three time Pushcart Prize nominee, her work can be found in The Huffington Post, BuzzFeed Reader, and PBS NewsHour's Poetry Series, among others. She was awarded a residency by the Millay Colony, the James Merrill Fellowship by the Vermont Studio Center, and the Visions of Wellbeing Focus Fellowship at AIR Serenbe. Her poetry book "Odes to Lithium" is forthcoming in September 2019. Israeli-born, raised in Massachusetts, she now lives in Brooklyn. Her favorite compound word is see-saw.
