Farmer for a Day: Hands-On Rooftop Farming Workshop
What is it like to be an urban farmer? How does one cultivate crops hundreds of feet above the city streets? In this hands-on farming workshop, you'll step into Director of Farming Operations Liz Dowd's shoes and get your hands dirty working the (rooftop) land. By the beginning of June the farm is nearly all planted, which means the time is ripe for crop maintenance. There's always plenty of tasks on a farmer's to-do list, from compost flipping to weeding, tomato trellising to bed preparation. Whatever the day entails, there will be plenty of time for a Q+A session, and for the most important part of farmer's checklist - end of day snacks and libations!
Venue: Brooklyn Grange Rooftop Farm
