KEN KOBAYASHI WORLD MUSIC QUARTET is based in New York City. The multi-faceted group features Inigo Galdeano Lasheras (Sax, Spain), Jeff Miles (Guitar, San Diego, California, U.S.A.), Marwan Allam (Bass, Tunisia) and Ken Kobayashi (Drums, Japan). Each member masters authentic jazz techniques and plays at the many live performances worldwide. KEN KOBAYASHI WORLD MUSIC QUARTET seamlessly fuses own unique backgrounds and idioms into Eastern European influenced music and beyond. Ken Kobayashi (Drums) Ken Kobayashi is Jazz-based drummer, living and active in New York. Ken has been playing among the many venues such as Kavehaz, Cleopatra’s Needle, Smalls, Smoke, Garage Restaurant, Tomi Jazz, Jazz at Kitano, Cafe Bohemia and Rockwood Music Hall. He has played with Ravi Coltrane, Anthony Coleman, Elliott Levin, Dan Nimmer (Wynton Marsalis Quartet), Tomas Morgan (Bill Frisell Band), Sean Conly and many others. New album “Boundary” is out now on ESP-Disk. It features 10 improvisations by the trio with Megumi Yonezawa(P) and Masa Kamaguchi(B).
Inigo Galdeano Lasheras (Sax) Inigo is a versatile Spanish born jazz saxophonist. After graduating from two of the most prestigious music schools, Berklee College of Music and Indiana University, he moved to New York City to continue his successful career as a jazz saxophonist. He currently leads his own quartet with prominent musicians of the contemporary jazz scene and collaborates with a myriad of bands of different jazz styles, with whom he plays both local and internationally.
Jeff Miles (Guitar) An American guitarist, composer and producer from San Diego, California, Jeff Miles is a Berklee College of Music alum and the winner of the 2008 Montreux Jazz Guitar competition. Featured on numerous recordings, Jeff is sought after for his orchestral pallet of sounds and blistering, evocative improvisations. He has performed around the world in venues such as The Monterrey Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Las Condes Jazz Festival, Saulkrasti Jazz Festival, Blues Alley, Bar Next Door, 55 Bar and Smalls Jazz Club.
Marwan Allam (Bass) Tunisian bass player and composer based in New York City. Marwan specializes on the Electric bass and he joined serval blues and funk bands and part of a traditional Arabic orchestra’s to straight ahead jazz bands in different projects performing in major venues and festivals around Tunisia. Marwan Allam has performed and collaborated in many different projects with worldwide artistes such as Freddie Bryant, Tarek Yammani, Jay Rattman, Alex Spiagin,Marc Cary , Yacine Boulares , Shareef Clayton , Charles Own , Layale Chaker , Kinan Azmeh, Brain prunka , Mohamed Ali Kammoun and many more…Marwan continues to expand his work as a bandleader, composer, first-call sideman.
