New York Chamber Music Festival presents "The Fabulous Tangos of Piazzolla," a high-voltage program featuring violinist and former MET Opera concertmaster Elmira Darvarova, New York Philharmonic hornist Howard Wall, and pianist Thomas Weaver. They offer several arrangements transcribed from the original Piazzolla versions. Born in Argentina, Piazzolla spent much of his childhood in New York City. His music is infused with a wide range of influences from Bach to Bartók and from jazz to Klezmer.
