Experience Pride Month at The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine in NYC

This June, The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine in New York City celebrates Pride Month with a series of vibrant events centered around the LGBTQIA+ community. The festivities commence with the much-anticipated return of Pride Eve on May 31, 2024, featuring this year's theme, "Pathways of Pride," inspired by Anne Patterson's textile installation, "Divine Pathways." New Yorkers and international visitors alike are invited to engage in these inclusive events, celebrating diversity and community in a welcoming environment.

Event Highlights Include:

- Pride Eve: A Pilgrimage to Pride (May 31, 7 PM): Hosted by the artist Greedy Peasant, the evening will feature crafts, cocktails, a performance, and the ceremonial lighting of the Pride Lights. Dress in monochromatic, fanciful attire and join this special kickoff celebration. Tickets are flexible in pricing to accommodate all attendees.

- Queer Redemption Book Launch (June 6, 6 PM): Join Rev. Dr. Charlie Bell for the launch of his groundbreaking book, "Queer Redemption," in a discussion led by Dean Patrick Malloy. Explore how queerness reshapes views on Christianity at this enlightening book talk, with a reception to follow.

- Intergenerational Book Talk and Sunset Silent Disco (June 10, 6 PM): Author Chloe Davis presents "The Queens' English," a fresh take on LGBTQIA+ lingo, followed by a silent disco session as the sun sets.
