Death Threat: A Cancer Story
In the fall of 2022, a young woman receives a cancer diagnosis. It’s a whirlwind of egg freezing, chemo, and other new experiences. But mostly, it’s emails. Emails about claims, insurance, and getting owed some cold hard cash. As treatment progresses and her worldview shifts, and as correspondences escalate into useless spirals of email-speak, maintaining composure becomes progressively more futile. Then, niceties break.
Part stand up, part PowerPoint comedy, this is a hilarious journey for anyone who’s circled back, followed up, or hell, even just lost their shit. This show is about healthcare and other bureaucratic systems–and what happens when they take us to the brink.
