Chair of Braata’s fundraising committee, Kia Jones says she felt this is a great addition to the already wonderful programming that Braata offers. “Part of the thrust of this incoming board has been to find new and innovative ways of raising funds for the organization while enticing a whole new crop of Braata supporters. These events represent a departure from the usual Braata fundraiser and so we hope to attract some new attention to our work while raising much needed funds for our programs.”
Through this first Braata Brunch, the organization hopes to bring together individuals of Caribbean American heritage along with individuals who are interested in opening up to new horizons to explore the Caribbean experience through music, dance, and celebration.
