Jewish Identity with Israel at War
Held in partnership with the Consulate General of Israel in New York, this event is in honor of Rabbi David Ellenson, Ph.D., z”l, past President and Chancellor Emeritus of HUC-JIR. As Rabbi Ellenson and his family’s spiritual home, Congregation Rodeph Sholom will host the event for people to honor Rabbi Ellenson’s legacy and profound impact on generations of Jewish scholars. Special guest Ruth Calderon, Ph.D., is an Israeli academic, writer, and politician. With a Ph.D. in Talmud, Dr. Calderon is dedicated to making Jewish texts accessible to all, regardless of religious affiliation.
