TheGayGaston presents: TheGayGallery WorldPride Weekend
Not every prince is looking for a princess.
Not every princess is looking for a prince.
Whether your looking for a prince, princess, or even a villain--TheGayGaston invites you to TheGayGallery!
As a man, you aspire to look like your vision of the best male form; while as a gay man we often lust after that same ideal. l've commissioned the work of various artist to help explore this exclusively homosexual sensation of lusting for and aspiring towards the same paragon—in my case: Gaston.
In the musical Fun Home, Alison, attempting to articulate how she relates with and is possibly attracted to a delivery woman in song while fixating on her "cool" key ring. This was the first time I had ever seen that reckoning of budding queerness depicted. For me, watching Gaston rip open his shirt in beauty and the best, showing off his chest hair, was my "Ring of Keys" moment. Like Alison, I was too young to make sense of what I was feeling. I was intrigued but sensed perhaps I aught not to be. Now years later I've grown a hairy chest of my own and into that male archetype that aroused me years ago.
TheGayGallery will display depictions of me as this hirsute villain through the eyes of my favorite artists in their various styles and mediums including photography, digital art, water color and pastels.
