Grupo Rebolu: Season Welcome Party
Afro-Colombian musical ensemble, Grupo Rebolu interprets the traditional sounds of their homeland: gaita, tambura, chalupa, and bullerengue, with original compositions reflecting on their New York home. The group was created from the desire of Ronald Polo, (vocalist/composer/gaitero), Morris Canate, (master folkloric percussionist), and later on Johanna Castaneda (Vocalist/musician) to promote the rich musical traditions of their ancestors; the Afro-descendants of Colombia's Caribbean coast.
Venue: Flushing Town Hall
