Suzan-Lori Parks to Celebrate Juneteenth With Francis Kite Club Concert
Renowned playwright and singer-songwriter Suzan-Lori Parks is set to ignite the stage once again with her electrifying band, Sula & The Joyful Noise, at Francis Kite Club in New York City on June 20, 2024, at 7 PM. This special performance will commemorate Juneteenth, marking the first full day of freedom, with an evening of soul-stirring music and celebration.
Suzan-Lori Parks is a multi-award winning playwright, singer-songwriter, and the first African-American woman to receive the Pulitzer Prize in Drama for her Broadway hit "Topdog/Underdog." Her original songs for "Plays for the Plague Year," performed at Joe's Pub, earned her the 2023 Drama Desk Award for Best Music in a Play.
