Gallery 104 is pleased to present Divine, a group exhibition of nearly twenty artists exploring notions of the divine, the relationship between the mortal and eternal realms, and overall visual manifestations, interpretations of divinity. Curated by Lucy McCarron, the exhibit presents the work of an impressive roster of multidisciplinary artists working with acrylic, oil, found objects, and other media. The artists in the show include: Renata Bosnjak; Keith Brown; Marcos Gonzales Cutre (Jantus); Ase Fagervik; Bob Freyer; Nina Friedman; Ligel Lambert; Cortne (Coco) Martin; Ernesto Gutierrez Moya; Angela Munoz; Ricia Neura; Worapol Nuan-La-Ong; Julio Sanchez; Audrey Scharrer; Eva Stengade; Alycia Thompson; and Apelles Zhou.
The show will open on Thursday, July 4th with an initial public reception from 6-9pm and a follow-up reception on Friday, July 5th from 6-9pm. The show will remain on view until Friday, July 26th. About Gallery 104 Founded in 2004, Gallery 104 began in southern California under the leadership of Shane Townley. After 11 years of successfully showcasing the work of several artists through monthly group exhibitions and participating in art fairs, the gallery moved to New York (see Los Angeles Times article). Today, Gallery 104 is overseen by Director Lucy McCarron and located on the lower level of the NYA Art Center in Tribeca. The gallery also manages an exhibition space within the 1stdibs Gallery at the Terminal Stores Building in Chelsea where monthly group shows take place with a select number of represented artists.
