Amuse Singers, a select ensemble for women's voices, continues its 16th season with JOURNEY INTO NIGHT, under the baton of its new music director, Phillip Cheah, hailed by the New York Times for his ensembles' "warm tone and carefully calibrated blend". A program of music journeying from the hour of deepest dark into the dawn of a new day with soothing sounds of lullabies, moon music of the Inuit and magic prayers featuring Carson Cooman's THE DAWNING LIGHT; Bob Chilcott's MAKING WAVES; Eriks Esenvalds' STARS; Keith Hamel's LULLABY; Ladino folk song DURME, DURME arranged by Alice Parker; Latvian folksong, IN THE EVENING, WHEN THE SUN SETS, arranged by Andris Sejans, and more.
