AMUSE SINGERS women’s vocal ensemble concludes its 16th year with SPRING AWAKENING, a lively and lush program celebrating the vernal cycle of rebirth with songs of nature and love. Under Phillip Cheah, known for his ensembles’ “warm tone and carefully calibrated blend” (The New York Times) and joined for this performance by acclaimed pianist, Trudy Chan, the program features Eleanor Daley's The Lake Isle of Innisfree, Les Sirènes by Lili Boulanger, Salut printemps by Claude Debussy, songs from The Princess and Two Eastern Pictures by Gustav Holst, Songbird by Sarah Quartel, viva sweet love by Joan Szymko, and more.
AMUSE SINGERS strives to bring exciting choral music for women’s voices to New York audiences. Allen Kozinn of The New York Times writes, “This choir’s real magic is in its delicate balance of serenity and intensity…pure transparent tone and solid ensemble.”
