The life and music of Lenny White — the iconic Grammy-winning drummer, who is among jazz music’s most prolific and celebrated artists, producers, composers and sidemen — will be fêted at a one-night-only celebration filled with music and memories at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater on March 6. Presented by Tzedakah 4 All, the event will feature performances in multiple combinations: the remaining members of Return to Forever with Stanley Clarke, Al Di Meola with a symphonic orchestra conducted by Maestro Steven Mercurio, as well as more surprise pairings.

This special night will also explore material from White's illustrious five-decade career, which include monumental albums such as Miles Davis' Bitches Brew, Freddie Hubbard's Red Clay, Chaka Khan's Echoes of an Era, and more. Laurence Fishburne will serve as emcee with appearances from the above artists as well as Ron Carter, Steve Jordan, Buster Williams, Omar Hakim, Patrice Rushen, Al Foster, Mike Clark, Billy Hart, and Billy Drummond, with additional surprise special guests to attend as well.
