MFIT Fashion Symposium: ¡Moda Hoy! Latin American and Latinx Fashion
Join us for ¡Moda Hoy! Latin American and Latinx Fashion, a fashion symposium hosted by The Museum at FIT and led by curators Tanya Melendez-Escalante and Melissa Marra-Alvarez. The symposium will shed new light on Latin American and Latinx fashion by exploring the work of fashion designers of Latin American heritage. Topics favored by these designers include politics, sustainability, art, Indigenous heritage, gender, and popular culture. The fashion culture talk allows the curators to engage with the general public and the academic community in preparation for the upcoming exhibition of the same title, which is slated to open in spring of 2023.
