Piano Jazz Series: Simona Premazzi
Join us at Klavierhaus on Tuesday, March 18, for an enchanting evening with Italian pianist Simona Premazzi.
Described as “a wickedly clever soloist with a very original viewpoint” by DownBeat Magazine, Simona Premazzi is a fearless modernist composer and improviser whose deeply lyrical style resonates with audiences worldwide. Originally from a small town near Milan, Premazzi began playing piano at age eight and a half, later earning dual master’s degrees in classical and jazz music. Since moving to New York in 2004, she has captivated audiences at iconic venues such as the Village Vanguard and jazz festivals across the globe. Premazzi has collaborated with celebrated artists including Jeremy Pelt, Greg Osby, Dayna Stephens, and Melissa Aldana, among many others. Her solo work and compositions are known for their modernity, openness, and unmistakable swing, earning praise from The New York Times: “Her soloing is special.” With seven critically acclaimed albums to her name, including the recent Wave In Gravity, Premazzi continues to push the boundaries of jazz while maintaining an elegant, lyrical core. Join us for this special performance and experience her artistry live.
