Edward Smaldone is a Professor of Theory and Composition at the Aaron Copland School of Music. The program is at 12:15-1:30 PM, Monday, February 11, 2019, in the LeFrak Concert Hall, in the New Music Building at Queens College. The concert is free admission and open to the public. The Klariano Duo is clarinetist Søren-Filip Hansen and pianist Karina Brix Andersen. Both of these outstanding young musicians are graduates of the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. Edward Smaldone Hansen is a member of the Royal Danish Lifeguard Band in Copenhagen, a member of the Opus Zoo Woodwind Quintet and teaches clarinet in several Danish schools. In 2001 and 2002, he won first prizes in the Berlingske Music-competition for young musicians and in 2014 he won the 1.st Prize in the clarinet competition at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
