Fire Lapping at the Creek explores the occulted history of the blues in an experimental setting with an NYC Allstar sextet: Chris Tordini (bass), David Leon (saxophone), Yuma Uesaka (clarinets), Xavier Del Castillo (saxophone), Alec Goldfarb (guitar), and Steven Crammer (Drums).

Dominican-American saxophonist and composer Alfredo Colon is a proud New York City native. His playing has been described as authoritative and fiery yet mournful and melodic. Drawing on his interest in Dominican folklore and the works of visionary saxophonists Albert Ayler and Ornette Coleman, Colon creates a musical atmosphere that highlights beauty by framing it in disarray.

Bergamot Quartet is fueled by a passion for exploring and advocating for the music of living composers, continually expanding the limits of the string quartet’s rich tradition in Western classical music. With a priority given to music by women, they aim to place this new, genre-bending music in meaningful dialogue with the histories that precede it with creative programming, community-oriented audience building, and frequent commissioning.
