A six piece out growth of Antibalas, Armo features lead singer/keyboardist Amayo, trumpeter Jordan McLean, and percussionist/vocalist Marcus Farrar, rounded out by crack bass/drum combos from the leading members of NYC's Afrobeat community, including drummer Kevin Raczka. Armo's intimate and energetic sound focuses on the compositions of the creator of the Afrobeat form, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, and the revolutionary new directions set out by Amayo and McLean. Collectively the members of this ensemble have performed thousands of concerts around the world on their own and as members of Antibalas, and have worked with such luminaries as David Byrne, Angelique Kidjo, Public Enemy, TV on The Radio, and Ornette Coleman. Don't miss it!
