Lunar New Year Wishing Tree
Celebrate the Lunar New Year at Market 57 with our wishing tree! The calamondin tree isn’t just a plan, it’s a lively little powerhouse of prosperity, good luck, and hopes for abundance. These charming trees often get decorated with red envelopes hanging from their branches like tiny treasures. Traditionally, those envelopes held cash, symbolizing fortune growing as plentifully as the fruit itself. But now, there’s a modern twist—people are also tucking their New Year wishes inside along with the cash.
Pier 57 has partnered with artist Hao Chen to create a custom red envelope for the wishing tree. Visitors can write their dreams, fortune, and endless good vibes, and all proceeds will be donated to Heart of Dinner.
