Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin @ Masterpiece Sundays at Marlene Meyerson JCC
Discover what makes Ravel’s impressionist writing in “Le Tombeau de Couperin” one of the greatest works of music written as part of MusicTalks' new Sunday Series.

More than any other part of the orchestra, woodwinds provide a wealth of magical colors and special effects for our ears to feast upon. In this Masterpiece Sunday concert, these vibrant palates will bring to life Maurice Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin, Danish composer Carl Nielsen’s Wind Quintet Op.43, and American composer Amy Beach’s Pastorale Op.151 in a celebration of sound and nature.

Featuring Mira Magrill (flute), Belinda Rosen (oboe), Taylor Smith (Bassoon), and Matthew Jaimes (French Horn).

Audience members are invited to join us for a meet and greet with the artists following the concert.

Designed to immerse audiences in the rich tapestry of classical music, this Sunday afternoon series highlights some of the greatest chamber music masterworks, and spotlights lesser-known gems, from the repertoire.

With an emphasis on intimacy and audience engagement, each 75-minute, no-intermission concert features world-class performers, insightful introductions to the composers and their works, and opportunities for dialogue between the artists and audience.
