Khalil Kwame Bell - Harlem Jazz Series
Khalil Kwame Bell is a renowned drummer born in Queens, New York City. He grew up in a family surrounded by music, and this is where his love for drumming began. Khalil started playing the drums at the age of two and never looked back.
Bell worked with several notable artists such as Ray Charles, Roy Hargrove, and Wyclef Jean. He has also appeared on several albums, including Jen Chapin's "Reckoning" and Rez Abbasi's "Things to Come." Bell is particularly known for his fusion of traditional African rhythms with jazz and funk styles, which he calls Gullah Jazz. Currently, Khalil is based in New York City, where he continues to play with several groups such as the Soul Science Lab and his group, The Khalil Kwame Bell Ensemble. He is also a sought-after educator and mentor, conducting workshops, masterclasses, and lessons. Khalil Kwame Bell is an exceptional drummer and an inspiration to aspiring musicians worldwide.
