MOCA PERFORMS - Mountain Mom, a staged reading
What does your family dynamic look like? How does it shift when a new member joins the picture? What about in an interracial family? The Museum of Chinese in America is pleased to collaborate with playwright Rachel Chin to present a staged reading of her new play, Mountain Mom. This play follows the couple Grace and Salim as they welcome a newborn baby. When Grace’s Malaysian-Chinese mother comes to the United States to stay with them, Salim, who is African American, must navigate the perils of cross-cultural communication. This reading will be followed by a Q&A session.
